How to Tell if a Guy Likes you - Five Signs He's Interested

How can you tell if a guy likes you or is interested? You noticed him when you were standing and talking with a friend. You think he noticed you, but maybe it was your imagination or just wishful thinking. He looked at you at about the same time you saw him. Your eyes met for just a few seconds, and then you looked away. When you looked back up, he was talking with some other people. Was he watching you as you mingled? Or were you making that up? How can you tell if a guy likes you? Why are guys so hard to read?

Here are five signs that he is interested in you too. If any of the following happens, he is probably trying to get close enough to ask you out:

1. He tells someone

Is he interested? He likes you if he tells a mutual friend that he wants to know more about you, or he asks other people who you are and where you're from. He is trying to act like he's "just asking" but his questions indicate more than a casual interest. And when he tells someone that he finds you attractive, he probably knows that it will get back to you. He's hoping it does.

2. The look

He gives you a look that betrays his calm exterior. Even though he is across the room, "that look" he has says it all. It is sweeping, from your head to your toes, and then his eyes linger on yours. You think you notice the beginning of a tentative smile.

3. The conversation

Does he like you? When he manages to get close enough to you, to ask you questions, he is interested. He appears to be listening and responds to what you say. He's moving in to the ultimate question, which is: "Are you seeing anyone." He would only ask this question if he wanted to date you, and he hopes the answer is "No." Never ever wear a ring in public. When a guy is across the room, he cannot tell which finger it is on and he may assume incorrectly that you are taken. If he doesn't ask you the question of whether or not you are attached, he may ask someone whom you both know.

4. He appears unexpectedly

He likes you a lot if he shows up out of nowhere. He can only do that if he has been asking people about your schedule, or he has been paying attention to where you are going and at what time. His face may turn red when he sees you. A sudden, "Oh, hi," is his way of saying, "I don't want to seem obvious, but I am interested in you." If you feel the same way, do not act shy. Stop and talk to him.

5. EVERYONE likes you

Is he interested? When you are well liked and a happy person, why wouldn't he like you? Of course he does. If you don't have a great life, however, now is your time to start working on one. Take a look at your career possibilities, body image, future, plans, and resources. You may be naturally talented at something, but it won't matter unless you work on your strengths. Misused or unused talents fade away. School and training do not.

These are the five signs that he is interested and he is on the verge of asking you out. Make it easy for him and be friendly. This is where relationships begin.

Unusual Gifts to Make a Real Impact

What do you buy someone who already has everything? When you ask someone what they want for their birthday they always say "oh I don't know" or "I have everything". Buying Christmas or birthday presents can be difficult. We are all guilty of buying the usual bottle of perfume, chocolates or flowers but little thought goes into buying these and they are a bit of a cop out!

There is nothing better than getting a surprise on your birthday. A present that you really love, and which you were surprised to receive. Sadly this rarely happens. I can pretty much guess what my friends, children and family have bought me when it's my birthday. I don't mind as I am grateful but sometimes I wish they didn't waste their money. The presents I love the most and remember from year to year are the ones that are not the usual gifts but something that you know came with a lot of thought behind it. They say you can't beat a handmade card and it's true. I would much rather my children make me a unique card that took time and effort rather than a typical card from a card shop.

So how do you go about buy a unique gift for someone? Well you need to think about the person you are buying for. Do they have any hobbies if so what are they? If they love gardening, golf or any other sport you should be able to look for something on theme. Maybe they love music in which case you could find out their favourite artist and look for something unique relating to the musician. Most bands have websites selling items from their tours and so on. If they have no hobbies why not look around their homes and draw some ideas there. You might notice they like antique items or really modern art. With a bit of investigation you should be able to get some clues as to what would make a good gift.

The internet is a great place for finding unusual items as many people set up websites rather than have shops in towns and villages. There are thousands of unusual gift shops online by all sorts of enthusiasts, not just the general retail shops. Many people set up a store as a bit of a hobby and sell items that are of interest to them. So if the person you are buying for loves pigs or are just passionate about a TV program you can guarantee someone else is also keen and has a website dedicated to that subject. Even if they don't sell items they might well have links to stores that are of interest to them.

There really are no excuses to finding that special gift. With a little bit of time and effort searching the internet you should easily find a great gift that will make your friend smile and make their birthday or Christmas. If you're lucky the thought might get returned and one day you will receive a really thoughtful unusual present that you will really love.

What Makes a Friend a True Friend?

When my children were growing up, they would come home from school after the start of a new year and announce that they made lots of new "friends." In my determination not to dash their enthusiasm, I would simply say, that's good. However, in my heart of hearts, I wanted very much to tell them that "friends" have to be time tested and proven. As they grew older, we had this conversation and time bore witness to this fact. Situation after situation would arise and they would quickly learn who their "true friends" were.

Who earns the distinction of a "true friend?" The person who you can say is there for you when no one else is. The person that you can call at 2 A.M with a true crisis who won't say, "can't it wait until morning?"

I imagine we all have had our moments of throwing personal pity parties because of delayed hopes and dreams, but there's one thing about a true friend and that is this; they won't stay with you at that party for long. As a matter of fact, they probably won't even show up. They just have this loving way of not participating in anything that is not for your good. They won't just "go along with you to get along with you," that's really not a friend. A real friend will hold you accountable and tell you when you are wrong, but in loving way. Sometimes if you need a little tough love, well they've got that too. The thing about it is this; they won't compromise with you. A true friend won't pretend that your drinking problem doesn't exist. They will let you know that you are causing yourself a great deal of harm and you need help. If telling you the truth about that means losing your friendship, they'd rather do that than hurt you by lying to you. It's like a parent who does nothing to discipline a wayward child. Do you really love that child if you don't tell them right from wrong? No and the same is true of a friend.

I have known many people throughout my life. People either come into your life for a season, a reason or a lifetime. The "lifetimers" are very few and that may be for a reason I have not come to understand just yet. What I do know is this; "there are friends who destroy each other but a real friend sticks closer than a brother." What a saying. I borrowed that from a very favorite book of mine, the Bible and it is a Proverb a very wise and true statement.

I can truly say I have a couple of "lifetimers." One in particular is the friend that turned me on to this ezine stuff. I have to admit, sometimes I can be a little behind the times as it relates to technology and new ways to communicate. LA Jackson and I have been friends since grade school and he's determined not to leave me behind. We both share this gift of writing and he's been encouraging and supporting me to stop sitting on my gift. I'm looking forward to some great things to come from him because he is a talented and gifted author.

So, who are true friends? Someone who in some cases would stick even closer to you than your own family. Through good times and bad times they are there for you. When you mess up and make mistakes like we all do, they don't have judgments for you, they encourage you to get up and try again. I encourage you to cherish the true friends in your life. They make life worth living.
